4 Weeks Intensive Fashion Design & Sewing Course (N15,750)
This is a project based beginners course that will provide you with a thorough introduction to the general principles and skills of cloth making using a tie, bag and skirt.
You will become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and develop a range of related sewing skills.
Continuing into our Intermediate and Advanced courses will build your knowledge and skill as you work on different garment types.

What will I Learn?
Teaching is both as a whole class and on an individual one to one basis, using lectures, demonstrations, examples, samples, handouts and any other technical support materials where appropriate.
The class includes but not limited to:
# Standard Stitches
# Basic couture hand sewing skills
# Seaming curved edges
# Straight edges and gathered edges together
# Various seam types including: French seams and and flat fell seams
# Top stitching
# Trimming work and pressing
# Fixing centered and invisible zip correctly
# Adding fullness to garment using gathered stitches, elastic and pleats
# Use pattern lays, grain lines and selvedge correctly
# To use machinery safely and correctly
# Trimming work and pressing.
# Use of interfacing and linning in garment construction
# Construct a Tie, Bag and a skirt using patterns to a professional and standard finish.
# To solve construction problems and think independently

What kind of feedback will I Get?
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor in a constructive and supportive environment.
Entry Requirements ?
No previous experience needed although students must be able to speak, read and write in English. Basic numeracy is an advantage though not essential.
What next after the course Ends?
We recommend attendance on the Intermediate (8 weeks) and then the Advanced (12 weeks) courses to complete the learning outcomes.
